Headteacher of Horninglow Primary School
BSc (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Education and Mathematics, UWE Bristol.
“I wholeheartedly believe in the Trust’s values that every child should have the opportunity to
fulfil their potential, regardless of their ability or background. This belief underpins everything
I do and is what drives me each and every day.”
I feel incredibly honoured to serve as Headteacher at Horninglow Primary School, where I am part of a dedicated team committed to making this vision a reality. I am deeply proud of the community we serve and am passionate about supporting our families in any way we can. Building strong relationships is at the heart of our work, as a true sense of community is vital to ensuring every child feels they belong.
Teaching has always been my vocation. With over twenty years of experience in education, much of which has been in leadership roles, I have led key areas including curriculum, mathematics and early years. I am driven to achieve the very best outcomes for all children and believe in leading with authenticity, kindness and integrity. The Trust’s values of belong, progress and thrive are fundamental to my leadership and shape the ethos, attitudes and
decisions within our school.
As someone who was born and raised in Burton, and educated locally at de Ferrers Secondary School, I feel privileged to now serve the community in which I grew up. It is incredibly important to me to give something back and to improve the life chances of young people, particularly those from more disadvantaged backgrounds who rely on us to raise aspirations and create opportunities.
Outside of school, I am very family-oriented and value spending time with loved ones and friends. I have a passion for music and dance, and in my spare time I enjoy a good book, a pub quiz and getting out for a walk.
