Luke Woodward
Trust Estates Officer / Sustainability Lead
“My aim is to ensure that our school facilities are not only safe and compliant but also optimised to enhance the educational experience for both students and staff. I am committed to proactive maintenance, efficient operations, and sustainable practices that support the long-term goals of our educational community and wider.”
Born and raised in Burton, I'm a true local at heart. With a career beginning in construction and domestic works; I set up my own maintenance company working alongside/subcontracting to local building firms and letting agents. I transitioned into the hospitality sector, spending seven years with Hilton Hotels. Starting as a Maintenance Assistant, I advanced to Assistant Maintenance Manager and then Maintenance Manager, gaining extensive experience in in-house plant and machinery, building regulations, and capital projects. My tenure at Hilton Hotels honed my skills in managing large-scale facilities, executing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with stringent building regulations and technical overview. Along with being awarded my City and Guilds, I have a proven track record in developing and maintaining efficient operational systems, enhancing the guest experience, and leading a dedicated team of maintenance engineers.
In my time away from work, I am passionate about music and the arts. I work as a sound and light engineer for bands in the Burton area. I also organise and promote my own live music events, blending my love for music with my organisational skills to bring community-focused events to life.
I am excited to bring my diverse background and passion for excellence to my role as Estates Officer, where I aim to support and enhance our school facilities, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and conducive to learning.
