Trust Early Help Practitioner
“Working within Affinity Learning Partnership offers the chance to make a genuine difference through early intervention and family support. The Trust values of Belong, Progress and Thrive reflect a shared belief in empowering families, strengthening relationships and supporting children to reach their full potential.”
I am an experienced Early Help Practitioner with over three years supporting children, young people, and families as part of an Early Help Team. My work focuses on building strong, trusting relationships and providing practical, compassionate support to help families navigate challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
Prior to this role, I worked as a mentor at The Pingle Academy, where I supported students with their mental health and wellbeing. I delivered mindfulness sessions and designed targeted interventions to help young people manage behaviour, anxiety, and anger, creating safe spaces for them to develop emotional resilience.
I am a trauma-informed practitioner with a deep understanding of how early experiences shape behaviour and relationships. Alongside my professional role, I am also a part-time foster carer, providing emergency and respite care for babies and children through Derbyshire County Council during weekends and school holidays.
I hold a Bachelor of Education (2012) and Qualified Teacher Status, with a specialism in Language and Communication. I have a particular interest in Emotion Coaching, neurodiversity—including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Conditions—and attachment-related needs.
As both a practitioner and a parent to my now grown-up twin daughters, I bring a balanced, empathetic perspective to my work, combining professional expertise with lived experience to support families in a meaningful and practical way.
